Did you know most fines issued are not valid due to various technicalities that the traffic department wishes you don’t find out about?
In fact there are so many that when you know them it is almost impossible to find a fine that doesn’t have a flaw.
They range from the number of days after the offence that the fine has to be issued, to where the crosshair is in the picture to name a few!

In the previous 5 years I paid out more than R7000 in traffic fines, and that was even with getting them halfed by supposed “contacts”. I really thought I was clever and saving by using them, but little did I know that they are just part of the system that keeps on milking us. Every time I saved up a bit of money to spend on something I really wanted, along came another stupid red bordered letter in the mail with warnings and threats if I didn’t pay up, together with a neat little picture of my car with some numbers alleging that I transgressed the law, and of course the frustration peaks, a few (or maybe many) swear words come out and eventually it doesn’t help because I still have to pay the darned fine even if it meant I gave it to my contact to get it halfed.Well that was the case until one afternoon when I was talking to a lawyer friend of mine who said he never pays his fines! I told him he was crazy, what if he got stopped at a roadblock? He just shrugged it off and said they couldn’t do anything to him since he knew the law and he knew what his rights were. So I asked him if it applies only to lawyers or to everybody and he began opening the whole issue up for me. He explained how he gets each and every fine of his cancelled on “technicalities”, and I mean fully cancelled, not half price or any price for that matter, but the best thing about it is that he said anybody can do it, if they know what the technicalities are and how the system worked.
As much as I wanted to I couldn’t go into everything with him there and then so I set up an appointment and agreed to pay him for his time so he could explain everything to me in detail. For a while I used the knowledge I gained to cancel my fines as well, but eventually when I was helping so many other people including friends and family cancel theirs as well, I realised that I should compile what I learnt for everybody who needed it, so I developed this:
